> Single Ear Headset
The Single Ear Headset is a low profile, lightweight, single sided headset, which can be used in conjunction with a wide range of infantry helmets and other protective headgear. The Single Ear Headset consists of a noise-canceling microphone, which is mounted on a flexible boom arm, and the main housing that includes the earpiece and an adjustable headband. The Single Ear Headset design allows most standard ear defenders to be worn over it.
Also originating from the housing is the down lead cable assembly, which is terminated in a semi-latching connector.
> Staff User Headset (Binaural)
The Staff User Headset was originally designed to fulfill a requirement for a headset that would be suitable primarily for use by Operators and Watch keepers in vehicle or HQ environments, although it is equally suited to a wide range of roles in the general military environment.
The Staff User Headset has been designed specifically to fit underneath most ballistic/military helmets.
Features include:
- Enclosed ear shells providing noise reduction with rotating vent covers, which can be opened to allow talk-through.
- Adjustable headband and soft ear pads to ensure comfort when worn over prolonged periods.
The Staff User Headset is lightweight, slim line, robust and fully encloses the ears to provide good background noise reduction, allowing the operator to concentrate on radio communication. Acoustic valves are included to allow the user to hear local, airborne sounds such as speech and warnings, when required.
The Staff User Headset is designed to meet the full military environmental and EMC requirements and provides split earphone working for use with two radios and a noise-canceling microphone mounted on a flexible boom arm.
The headband is fully adjustable to allow the Staff User Headset to be worn either with or without the standard infantry helmet and has the facility to fold up for easy stowage. The Staff User Headset down lead cable is terminated with a ruggedised metal type 5-pin connector.
> Pressel CW Side PTT
The Single Pressel is designed to operate with Single Ear and Staff User Headsets as a general-purpose pressel for use by military personnel.
> NBC Boom Mic Adapter
The NBC Boom Mic Adapter is a lightweight plastic adapter to enable voice to be transmitted whilst wearing NBC protective clothing.
It is attached simply by pushing on to the microphone boom arm of the headset and into a respirator’s Primary Speech Module (PSM).
The NBC Boom Mic Adapter is of rugged construction and consists of a tube bonded to a housing that fits over the boom microphone and at the other end a grommet wedge that locks in to the SF10 PSM.
This design does not breach the respirator seal but utilises the PSM’s feature of collecting voice audio that is transmitted across a rubber membrane.
> General Purpose Handset
General Purpose Handset has been designed to act as a lightweight handset for use by military personnel.
The main features of the handset are:
• A dynamic, moving-coil, communications receive earphone
• A Noise canceling electret microphone mounted on an adjustable boom
• A pressel switch integrated into the body of the handset
• A down lead cable terminated in a Pattern 105, 7 pin, Clansman connector
> Vehicle Loud Speaker (VLS)
The Vehicle Loudspeaker (VLS) has been designed as a lightweight line-powered loudspeaker that is compatible with most radio ancillary interfaces.
The VLS can be fitted in a vehicle (or command platform) or removed and located in a remote command post that may be up to 50 m away. The VLS is also capable of operating with an HF or VHF Manpack Radio through the Clansman ancillary interface.
The VLS is rugged, submersible and water resistant. It has an acoustically vented drainable enclosure with two 7-pin Pattern 105 sockets (one for the Combat Net Radio uplink and one for connecting headset/ handset), a rotary volume control and a rotary selector switch.
Any microphone audio from the handset/headset connected to the VLS is passed directly to the BOWMAN uplink connector via protection circuitry only.
The VLS does not mute when the headset or handset is connected and the pressel is activated.
The volume control adjusts the audio output of the loudspeaker between the minimum and maximum level. The selector switch determines which net is heard on the VLS and includes an off position.
> Vehicle Loud Speaker Installation Kit (VLS IK)
The Vehicle Loudspeaker Installation Kit (VLS IK) has been designed as a lightweight one-piece moulding simply attached by two screws to any suitable vertical surface.
The VLS IK can be fitted in a vehicle (or command platform) or located in a remote command post.
The VLS IK consists of a rugged single piece glass filled nylon moulding.
